My favorite cafes in taipei

I am always on the hunt for the best cafés in any city I visit. As a solo traveler, I’ve come to realize that the right café is more than just a place to grab coffee. It’s a little escape, a peek into local life, and sometimes even the perfect spot to slow down and just be. While I normally go for flat whites, I’m sharing my favorite finds for brown sugar lattes, those sweet and comforting cups that feel like a warm hug, and the cafés that made me feel right at home even when I was far away.

16.67 cafe

16.67 Cafe located in Zhongzheng district had great lattes and had breakfast sandwiches as well. There was a lot of seating available around 9AM which allowed me to hangout for a little bit. I recommend starting here at the beginning of your trip because you are close to the memorial garden and metro so you can get to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial park or Taipei 101 quickly.

Yolo’s cafe

I really liked this place especially for working or studying. It definitely gave off a working cafe vibe. There were also groups of elderly women there chatting. They served a really good brown sugar latte. I did have a bagel here for breakfast and it was just a regular bagel with Nutella - nothing too exciting about it. The cafe is dog friendly too! It’s located in Da’an and there are a ton of cafes around the neighborhood as well making it easy to cafe hop if that’s your thing.

Buzi cafe

This might have been my favorite cafe in Taipei. The vibes were super cute and had a vintage feel with the red lanterns and alley location. The latte tasted delicious and the staff was very friendly. There is also bar seating outside as the inside is cozy. I sat outside even though it was raining and I didn’t feel cold and honestly the vibes were great!

Wilbeck cafe

Wilbeck is located right next to the University so it is popular for a quick grab of coffee! It is very small but has cute aesthetics and the latte was pretty good! It is easy to walk pass due to all the nearby businesses but it was a nice break from running around the city.

scone

I just happened to walk by this place when I was shopping in Da’an. To be fair, I didn’t get coffee here - I got Taipei tea which was a nice pick me up with the rain. But the star was the scone. I *think* It was a brown sugar and pecan one. Everything was in Mandarin so I just pointed and smiled. It was raining a lot this day and it was a nice place to tuck away for a little bit. Something to note: there is limited seating and no bathroom.
