My favorite cafes in Lisbon

Coming again with another cafe hunt; this time in Lisbon! I loved all the cafes I visited. Some are more popular than others with tourists but they were popular for a reason! I normally got an acai bowl or a yogurt bowl for breakfast at these places but they also have really good egg or avocado toast options if that’s your thing. These are just a few of my favorites but I didn’t find a cafe in Lisbon that I didn’t like.

Important to note: Some cafes are trying to get rid of internet cafe vibes so some tables don’t allow laptops. This is because of the large remote working communities that have kind of taken over cafes. If you plan on getting some work done, ask the hostess if laptops are okay or if you can move to a laptop friendly table.

Hey folks

There are a couple locations of Hey Folks, but I went to the Sao Bento location. I actually went multiple times. The yogurt bowl was probably one of my favorite brunch/breakfast items I had in Lisbon. The greek yogurt bowl had a caramelized banana that was SO delicious. They also have a lot of different toasts that looked appetizing.

breakfast lovers

I went to the Alfama location and it was super cute! I checked the other locations and they all have a cozy look with their decor. They have a brunch menu special that was a good deal! I didn’t get it because I was still full but it looked like a lot of food!

Breakfast Lovers is definitely popular among tourists and locals so I recommend making a reservation here. I made one for the same day without problems.

Hello, Kristoff

I came by here just for a quick breakfast before an appointment and the coffee was SO good. Probably my favorite of the trip. It’s the perfect place to get some work done or just read a book. The pastries were pretty good too!

dear breakfast

Dear Breakfast was recommended to me by a local and unsurprisingly, I liked it. I went to the Bica location that was very close to my hotel and a short walk from other Lisbon tourist spots. The flat white was super smooth and I ordered a fresh juice as well and it was very refreshing. Overall great start to the day. The interior is super cute here with bleached brick interiors and large doors opening to a quiet street.

fauna & flora

This was another recommendation that I got from a Lisbon local. They had very fresh breakfasts and fresh squeezed juices. It definitely helped me feel better about all the treats I had. This location is in the Chiado neighborhood and very close to all the major shopping in Lisbon. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I sat inside, but next time I would opt for outside.
